Microsoft Teams: What is “Together Mode”?

The new Together Mode in Microsoft Teams allows users to see each other as though they are gathered around one screen. With this mode, anyone can be seen at their full size and with no background interference from other people’s images or videos popping up behind them!

What is Together Mode in Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams, the communication and collaboration platform from Microsoft, announced a new feature called ‘Together Mode’. This mode is designed to make video calls feel more social and connected. Instead of seeing all the users in a square or rectangular grid separately, you see all of them together in a virtual space. This makes it easier to understand how they are related to each other. It is available to all users of Microsoft Teams desktop version and will be extended to the Android/iOS Teams application soon.

How to Enable Together Mode in Microsoft Teams

  • To enable the new Together Mode feature in Microsoft Teams, go to the Settings tab after clicking on your profile. Check the Turn on new meeting experience option; if it’s not available, wait for the feature to be available soon as it gets rolled out in phases.
  • Once the feature is enabled, start a video call in Microsoft Teams with at least five people. The more the number, the better will be the visual effect. The maximum number of people in Together Mode is 49.
  • Click three dots while on the call and select Together Mode. Enjoy the auditorium view.

What are the Benefits of Together Mode in Microsoft Teams

The new Together Mode feature in Microsoft Teams offers several benefits to users. First, video calls feel more social and connected, providing a more communal experience similar to being in an auditorium with other people.
